Most longboxes are filler. This one was not, and it took the better part of an evening to work out why.
The top third was exactly what you expect — bagged copies of things that were overprinted, in shape that suggested they had been read once and shelved carefully. Underneath that, the sorting logic fell apart, which is usually a good sign.
Checking the middle
Spine stress is the thing people miss. A book can look clean face-on and still show wear once you tilt it under light. Roughly half of this box sat a step below where a quick glance would have put it.
If the condition depends on the angle you photograph it at, describe it honestly.
Anything that survived the second pass is listed in the shop. Anything that did not is in the bulk pile, priced accordingly.
